“Men in Black” star Will Smith backs higher taxes…until he hears France’s proposed rate! Rob Houglum LLMedia Tuesday, May 15, 2012
Will Smith has been a vocal fan of Barack Obama and his plan to increase taxes on the welathy, but during a visit to France he was asked if he would support a seventy five percent tax level exactly what's being suggested by new Socialist President of France.
Business Insider explains, "The Hollywood megastar enthusiastically preached the gospel of paying one's fair share of taxes in a French TV interview this weekend."
"But when asked about his take on the tax policy of French president-elect Franois Hollande, Smith's was startled stupid by the proposal of a seventy five p.c taxation rate on those earning above 1,000,000 annually," reported BI's Alex Biles.
"I have no difficulty with Will Smith," Glenn announced at the start of the video.
Glenn explained that Smith shares the same opinion as many in Hollywood that the rich have to pay more in taxes.
In the interview, Smith responds with a "God Bless America" and a giggle upon hearing President-elect Hollande's suggested rate of 75 percent.
"You can see the actual shock of that number," Stu asserted. "( Smith ) is not a tax expert in Western european economics. It strikes him as stunning as it should strike you."
